Getting married is an exciting event that everyone looks forward to. The wedding day is pictured as a beautiful, perfect and joyous celebration to witness the forever bonding of two lovers promising eternal devotion and love for each other. In order to make the event perfect and memorable for the couple and guests, it must be well planned. From the little details of the church and reception decorations, flow of ceremony to the feast after the ceremony, everything has a price. Getting married also means being financially prepared because there will be lots of expenses to pay for. In order to save more on wedding expenses, a lot of alternatives are available as long as proper planning is done ahead of time.

The first aspect to look into when preparing for the wedding is the bridal gown and the gowns of the entourage. This must be planned months before the wedding in order to be sure that the dresses will fit and adjustments can be done as needed. For the wedding gown, rather than buying a new gown, it is better to rent. There are so many wedding dress shops around and there are so many choices of wedding gowns that are beautiful and with a cheap rent. This also holds true for the wedding entourage’s wardrobe that are better rented at wedding shops because it will only be used once. Long gowns are more practical for the female entourage so that there will be no problem on shoe/sandal design and uniformity.

Second aspects to check are the wedding paraphernalia, giveaways, invitation cards, and accessories. These items can be made at home rather than paying wedding shops expensively to make it. The materials can be bought at the bookstores or crafts store. Seek help from a creative person that can offer ideas on the designs and invite friends and relatives to help out on making the wedding’s giveaways, cards and paraphernalia. Magazines and the internet also offers wide array of choices for creative ideas on making wedding accessories and giveaways. In order to cut down on expenses, ensure that the materials for the design are not expensive. Again, there are so many alternatives around that can be used to substitute for materials used.

Third aspect will be on the church décor, flower arrangements, reception arrangements and church payments. In order to save more, it is better to personally design the venue and bring own materials to decorate it. Again, there are always helpful friends ready to offer help. There will also be a corresponding fee to the church and this should be paid ahead of time. For the venue payments, try to ask for discounts in order to save.

The last aspect will be the wedding feast proper. This will be the most expensive area because food and drinks to be served are not ordinary. To save on this aspect, try again to inquire for discounts and other payments like corkage fees then prepare the right menu that are not too expensive but delicious and will be enough to satisfy every guests appetite.

The five aspects above is very important to consider therefore to prepare and plan for ahead of time in order to prevent cramming on the preparations especially when the wedding day is fast coming up. Set a budget for the wedding expenses and lower down the budget by taking at least 15% off from the total prepared budget. Keep the 15% so that it will be used for future expenses.
