Planning Properly

Weddings are every couple’s happiest event but not all have that money lying around to splurge on grand wedding celebrations. At this day and age when money comes in trickles and the future worldwide economy is uncertain, the least you want to do is borrow and be in debt just so you can finally say your “I do’s!” Most importantly, it would not be wise to start your marriage saddled with debts. It just doesn’t make sense to pay your debts for several months or years for a day’s affair, does it?

As much as you want your wedding to have all the trimmings and frills, the reality is, it will cost you an arm and a leg to get the wedding done and over with if you don’t plan it properly. But a wedding need not have to be lavish and expensive in order to make it a memorable affair for couples, their friends and family. Many brides and grooms managed to spend a fraction of the cost and still have wonderful wedding experiences. With a bit of common sense, planning and assistance from relatives and friends, cutting the cost of your wedding expenditures is not impossible and still have the best wedding you desire.

First and foremost in planning your wedding is determining how much money you can afford to throw on the big celebration. You can simplify a big wedding celebration in many ways and still have a grand time. Keep in mind that the more people you invite the more money you spend on the reception. Unless you opt to have an unorthodox after-wedding reception wherein guests bring or buy their own drinks and food or arrange it as potluck lunch or dinner in your backyard. You will be surprised how many wedding couples have done this to save for their culmination day and still have very favorable event. Those huge towering wedding cakes should not be necessarily big to feed the whole assembly. You can order a cake half the fraction of the total attendees just so you have a cake displayed.

There are also little things that the bride and groom can do themselves. This is the time when both your creative and resourceful attributes come in handy. If you wish to give your guests wedding favors, it makes sense to let them go home with something they can consume rather than things stowed, can get lost or forgotten or become dust accumulator. Little boxes of your favorite chocolates as memento will be nice enough. You can do your own flower arrangements and centerpieces as well as pillows and flower girl’s baskets. If you are confident with doing your own hair and makeup, that will be a lot of money to that goes back to your kitty.

Also the biggest money- wasters are the gowns and tux for the couples and bridegrooms and bridesmaids. It doesn’t make sense to buy them when you only get to wear those ones. There are cheap rental wedding attires shops that make the whole wedding entourage most economical, or you can absolutely let them wear semi-formal attires.

All in all, planning ahead, looking and shopping around for easy on the pocket things that you may need for your wedding, reading and picking wedding planners’ brains can save you heaps of money. All that effort you put into careful planning your wedding is well worth effort and ultimately still have the best time of your life.
