Trying on Wedding Dresses

Over my weekend in Connecticut, I had one appointment with a seamstress for my sister’s wedding. Because she is plus sized, she is having her dress handmade by a seamstress. In order to make sure that the bridesmaids will match, the seamstress is also making our dresses. My sister’s dress would break my budget at $1,500 but my bridesmaids dress will be about $160 which is pretty reasonable.

Another thing is that I visited the Jessica McClintock store near my mother’s house. It’s quite a while before my wedding, but I wanted to take advantage of being so close to the Jessica McClintock store. Plus, I was able to find out about the dresses that I was interested in - whether or not they are going to be re-cut (aka. manufactured again). I tried on 4 dresses and found one that I like a lot. It’s a shorter length, but this will be suitable for my Las Vegas gondola wedding. It’s only $195 and the dress will be re-cut in a month, so I have some time to buy the dress that’s in my size. Jessica McClintock doesn’t do alterations, so if I buy from there I will have to find someone else to do my alterations. Here’s how I looked in my favorite dress.
