Make Your Own Chocolate Flower Wedding Favors

Recently for an anthropology class, my group mate made Hershey’s kisses roses (because we were analyzing Beauty and the Beast). She made 60 roses in about 4 hours for only $20.
When I saw these and how great they looked, I realized that they might be a good wedding favor/decoration. I figure with some vases (bought or even borrowed to save more money!) you could arrange these chocolate flowers as centerpieces for a wedding. You could give each attendant 1 or 2 flowers to take home (depending on how many you want to make). You could also make a few for your rehearsal bouquet, and give the flowers away to your rehearsal attendants. You could also keep them until the reception and give them away to children attendants (also doubling it as a centerpiece for a children’s table if needed).

Here are the instructions for making your own Hershey’s Kiss Flowers:
Single Flower
Rose Bouquet
Multi-Colored Flower Pot (Uses multiple types of candy)
(If you don’t use glue and if you rest the candy on top of the floral wire instead of inserting it into the candy, these flowers will be edible. Do not let the floral wire come into contact with the chocolate, it may contain toxic materials that are unsafe to eat! In order to bypass this problem, some people have used plastic lollipop sticks that are sold at craft stores (sometimes they even come in green), because they are safe to contact food. Make sure that the materials you are buying are food quality, it should be something made specifically for food.)
My suggestion is, that instead of using colorful Hershey’s wrappers and clear cellophane, use silver Hershey’s kisses and colorful cellophane (However, if your going to use different types of candy, like in the Multi-Colored Flower Pot, it may be best to use clear cellophane.)
There is nothing like great wedding reception favors to top off any successful wedding. Whether you’re searching for party favors, themed party favors, or bridal shower favors online or prefer to make your own, just look online for some great ideas.

Hey. Found you through Blog Catalog and am so excited. I’m in the almost-engaged stage and am already stressing about how we will pay for the wedding. I’ll going to be a daily reader. Thanks!

Hey Lacey & Tanner,
I just wanted to let you know of another way to raise some funds for your wedding (I am using you guys as inspiration to save some coin of my own ;). A few weeks ago I opened an ING Direct Savings account. The interest rate is 3.5%. Anyhoo, they have this thing called “Refer A Friend.” Each friend that you refer and that signs up you receive $13 in your savings account and your friend receives $13 in their newly opened savings account. You can refer up to 20 people and earn a total of $260! Check out my blog if you would like more info and if you would like me to refer you as a friend
