Unless this is just some fancy marketing scheme to bring in tons of visitors to her site, Elisa Zuritsky is giving away her never-before-used wedding dress to some lucky lady. The only catch is that you have to write a 500 word story about your impending wedding and why you should receive the dress. It really couldn’t hurt to write a quick story to possibly save yourself several thousand dollars on a beautiful dress. This is what Elisa said:
“After considering all the things I could do with this brand new wedding gown, I realized what I really want: A happy ending.
I want to know that all the time and aggravation and money spent finding a dress in which to get married was not in vain, but rather to ease the path of another bride-to-be, who’s trying to hold onto her sanity, savings, and sense of humor against all odds.
No money is needed to enter this contest, just your own personal Tale of Woe. Right about now, you might be wondering why being engaged isn’t the happiest time of your life. Maybe it’s been incredibly stressful. Maybe, in other words, you’re normal. Consider this your invitation to vent, kvetch, whine, complain. I promise not to judge you.”
Visit Elisa’s site to view more details about her wedding dress giveaway. Here is a pic of a similar dress to hers:

ummm…hello, i don’t know if you’ve already given it away, (my luck you have) but if you haven’t, i’d like you to consider me.*smile* i am not the “shopping” type, and the whole idea of trying on dress after dress is not only scary, but i’d love to spend the dress fund on other things…things like a real honeymoon, or perhaps sticking it into the “jeez, we really need to move out of this crappy little apartment, and into a house like normal married couples” fund. i don’t know if my situation is any more or less desperate then anyone trying to plan the most expensive party of their lives, but i’d like you to know that i have worked really hard to peel my face off the pavement and be a good woman…getting a dress as a gift for my wedding would be incredible. Also, i would be happy to pass on your gift to another when i’m done.
much thanks to you
