Savings Tip #2: Will Blog for Weddings

Part 2 in our series of creative ways to raise money for a wedding has to do with creating a website many months in advance and spreading the word to anyone and everyone you know. You’ll want to tell your friends, family, and strangers about your website as much as you can. Keep reminding them about it until they complain, and then remind them one more time. Nowadays it is so easy to create your own website. Blog sites like Blogger allow you to create your own blog in minutes for free.

So, how exactly would you make money from your own website or blog? Google Adsense of course!

In fact, the main source of income for this wedding is expected to be from Google Adsense. If you have not heard about it before, you will know exactly what I am talking about when you see the picture below.
wedding adsense links
This is a picture of the top of this blog. The circled items are Google Adsense links. Every time one of you clicks on one of these links, I will make between $0.10 and $2.00. This is a MAJOR source of fundraising income potential. If you implement this on your own website and have your friends and family visit constantly, you could save a TON of money for a wedding.

I will let you know on a regular basis how well this is doing for us and we will be updating the total money saved chart with the new totals.

You can also see the totals, separated by how much each item or fundraising technique provided us here.

Wonderful idea. That is a great one. Don’t you think some people will like to sow into your wedding? A donate button could go along way.

In response to Nicole, you get registered with google adsense to get those ads.
You can go thru the user guide after registering. Check it out on http://www.google.com/adsense

My question is - how does “Google” know it’s not you clicking on the ads? If they can’t track that, can’t you just get on your own blog and click away? Regardless, this is a great tip! I just got engaged, and I have been trying to save - but now that the time to plan is actually here, I’m anxious about my teeeeeeny budget!
